On 27th January 2021 the DVLA will be releasing a brand new batch of thousands of Dateless registrations for sale.
As with all Dateless number plates that the DVLA periodically release, these are Northern Irish format registrations but are perfectly legal to use throughout the UK.
These registrations are a great alternative to standard formats, and with prices starting from just £250 (including the mandatory £80 assignment fee) it’s easy to see why they’re so popular should you be seeking a short, Dateless number plate.
The registrations released all follow the format of 3 letters, followed by 3 numbers, for a total of 6 characters on each registration.
It’s interesting to note that Northern Irish plates are the only registration issued by the DVLA that contain the letter I. In fact, you’ll almost always find either the letter I or the letter Z in all Northern Irish registrations.
The new Dateless plates drop at 10:00am on the 27th January, and you’re able to browse the registrations on offer beforehand on the DVLA registrations website.
Remember it’s a first-come, first-served marketplace so if you spot a number plate you’re interested in, make sure you’re quick to purchase when they get released.
