The Process of the Transfer
On receipt of cleared deposit, we
will send the certificate to DVLA Swansea to have the buyer’s chosen Name added
as the “Nominee”. Make sure this matches
the Registered Keeper information on the V5 registration document for the car
that is to receive the number plate
As soon as we receive the amended certificate (DVLA usually
takes 2-4 weeks to process) we will send you an email with a jpg of the updated
document. We can then arrange for the
balance to be paid and certificate to be handed over or sent by first class recorded delivery.
When you receive the certificate you send it with your
vehicle documents (V5 registration document and MoT certificate if applicable)
to your local vehicle licensing office.
In the case of a brand new vehicle,
just hand the certificate to your car dealer and they will arrange assignment.
