As we welcome along the introduction of the new 71 reg number plates released by the DVLA, I wanted to take a look at a selection of these new numberplates that you cannot buy upon release.
As a number plate dealer, I’m always looking out for good plates – in particular plates that spell out exact words. And with the release of the new 71 registration plates, it unlocks a whole array of possible new letter and word combinations.
Unfortunately, the DVLA are all too aware of this and in an effort to reap even more cash from punters, they specifically hold back “premium” number plates from general sale.
These number plates are then released at auction where, as we are all too aware, they can then be sold for outrageous sums.
Here I’ve gathered together a selection of plates that won’t be available when the plates get released on the 5th May, but will be available at auction some time in the future.
On the DVLA website you may register your interest in any of these plates and you will be notified when they each become available at auction.
